System Requirements

Elements Software offers both a web (Filemaker Web Direct) and an iPad solution (Filemaker Go). The Web Direct solution works on any device that has either Google Chrome or Explorer installed. It is important to always maintain the newest version of the iPad app and to stay current with Apple iOS updates. Downloads are free from the Apple app store.

If you do not have a stable, high speed connection, it is then recommended that you have a dedicated router in the area where the logbook will be used.

Getting Started

Yes. The on-boarding package is emailed after purchasing. 

Yes, you can change your password at any time from within Elements Software.

If your user account has been granted the proper privileges, you may setup as many user accounts as needed. User accounts are categorized in 2 types: Operators & Managers.

Elements software automatically logs out after 15 minutes of inactivity in order to minimize unnecessary concurrent connections. This increases system performance.

Users are identified and protected by their personal login, password and e-signature. All data is permanently stored, backed up and flattened. Optionally data can also be exported for print out at any time.

Only the Operator Logbook requires an iPad in order to capture the digital signature. All other features can run on devices that have web browser capability. The web direct solution works best with Google Chrome or Explorer, but as each browser is different in type and version, the experience is not consistent. The best user experience is with an iPad using the newest version of FM Go.

If the feature is enabled and you have supervisor access, you can sign-off the Operator Logbook by conveniently batch signing past records spread over several days. While you do have the option to sign-off on a daily basis, the batch sign approach is much more efficient. Look for the "SIGN" button within the Operator Logbook. If there are more than two days of unsigned entries, you will be prompted upon login to approve the entries.

Regulatory Requirements

YES! Our Operator Logbook meets CSA B51 & B52 code. It has been accepted by Technical Safety BC. View our acceptance letter from the main page.

Only in cases of an electronic logbook or network (WiFi) failure, provision’s shall be made for a hard bound log book to be available for recording activities within the plant.

In cases like this, simply transcribe the log entry to a hard bound log book. It will satisfy your local safety officer and still allow you to take advantage of the features within Elements.

Your data is automatically backed-up on a secure AMAZON server daily.
